The objectives of this symposium are to
learn about the research underway at Big XII sister schools identify areas of collaboration for funding proposals identify areas of collaboration for IT research in general build networking opportunities for graduating PhD students and hiring institutions
The idea is to create an informal setting for this exchange by inviting IT researchers to picturesque Stillwater for a workshop to exchange
research ideas. These ties should help us with future recruiting among
our schools as well as enhancing research visibility of the Big XII schools. We would expect to have selected presentations by faculty and
Ph.D students about their current research. It is anticipated that clusters by themes will be organized. We also plan to bring in some
industry partners to participate in a panel session or more. Sessions will also be organized to address questions that current PhD students
have about life after graduation. To keep expenses at a minimum
